NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A group of businesses across the Volunteer State teamed up to fight anti-LGBT laws; it’s a coalition called “Tennessee Thrives.”

More than 200 businesses joined the board, ranging from the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital even to locally-owned restaurants like Edley’s BBQ.

The goal is to advocate for an inclusive and welcoming environment in Tennessee.

Members said it’s good for both business and economic development in the state.

“Any discriminatory bill has the potential to have an economic impact. We’ve already seen conventions pull out of Tennessee. You’ve seen what happens in North Carolina. We want to get ahead of that and let people that’s not the state we want to be southern hospitality should be just that welcoming to everybody,” said Lucia Folk.
